Zach Reid is a professional musician and guitar teacher with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. Currently located in Calgary, Alberta. He specializes in teaching Classical Guitar to children aged 10+ and adults of all ages. He teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. He also offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced Master Classes for students who are looking to gain practice in performance. Zach also performs at weddings and other events across Ontario.
Zach has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Philosophy from the University of Guelph where he specialized in classical guitar under the tutelage of Bruce French. Zach also has a diploma in Recording Arts from the Toronto Film School with recording credits to his name as a player and engineer, initially finding passion in writing, recording and performing as a punk rock guitarist. As a lead guitarist in his previous band, Brain Tuel, Zach Reid performed across Ontario and opened for such bands as The Full Blast and Faber Drive.
Zach began Misfit Music to create an inclusive approach to music, fostering a love of knowledge and music to all demographics. Whether you are looking to learn to read sheet music, complete RCM exams, or build your performance skills, Misfit Music will support you to reach your goals.
When Zach is not playing music you can find him at a local punk show, music festival, riding his (many!) bikes in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
